Hey, hey, hey. Welcome back to

Speaker:

Midlife Shenanigans with Tish. And

Speaker:

this week, this show is where midlife

Speaker:

bodies do whatever the hell they

Speaker:

want. And we're just trying to keep up.

Speaker:

So the other morning I woke up and my left hip was like,

Speaker:

yeah, not today. We're going to be in pain

Speaker:

for no apparent reason. Just lots of

Speaker:

pain. And if that wasn't bad enough, a few days

Speaker:

later my right shoulder chimed in and was like,

Speaker:

surprise. Tish, it's my turn. We're

Speaker:

gonna hurt now for no apparent

Speaker:

reason. I swear, half of

Speaker:

midlife I have been just waking up

Speaker:

confused about what new body

Speaker:

part is deciding to hurt that day for

Speaker:

no apparent reason. All right, let's talk about

Speaker:

these random aches and pains that show up like

Speaker:

uninvited party guest. Ew. Who wants

Speaker:

uninvited party guests? Not me. Before I jump into this

Speaker:

week's episode, I want to remind you, if you haven't picked up my

Speaker:

five midlife LOLs, no advice, just attitude.

Speaker:

A quick little PDF printable with five laughs about

Speaker:

midlife. You can grab that at tishleigh.com

Speaker:

P O- LOL that's tishleigh.com

Speaker:

pod LOL. All right, my

Speaker:

beautiful midlife sister, we are going to jump

Speaker:

in and today I want to talk about my

Speaker:

favorite part of midlife. So far. I injured myself

Speaker:

doing nothing, literally nothing, but I

Speaker:

injured myself. This has been my favorite

Speaker:

part of midlife. I mean, I'm kidding if you

Speaker:

didn't detect the sarcasm there. I

Speaker:

am, I am freaking amazed at the amount

Speaker:

of aches and pains that my body

Speaker:

just randomly decides to be like, oh,

Speaker:

yeah, left hip not gonna work today. Just gonna give you

Speaker:

lots of pain. Right hip. Okay, well, it was your left side

Speaker:

the other day, so let's move to the right side now. And we just

Speaker:

seem to, you know, work around the whole

Speaker:

body from top to bottom, but I'm literally just existing

Speaker:

in my 50 year old, middle aged body. That's

Speaker:

it. Just breathing. Somehow. I can go to bed

Speaker:

fine and, and wake up feeling like I did a full

Speaker:

contact sport in my sleep. Like I had played 10

Speaker:

games of football. Hell, like I played one game of football,

Speaker:

I wouldn't even survive one game. And I

Speaker:

just don't understand where

Speaker:

these aches and pains come from. At least if I had a really

Speaker:

cool story to go with, you know, that left hip hurt and like,

Speaker:

oh, hey, I, I don't know, I was out roller

Speaker:

skating and I fell and you know, hit my left hip and

Speaker:

that's why it's hurting. No, there's no cool story to

Speaker:

go with it. It's literally I rolled over

Speaker:

in the middle of the night and boom, I wake

Speaker:

up with a new ache. And

Speaker:

like, I touched on already is the rotating

Speaker:

parts of how it rotates from side to side.

Speaker:

Like, literally it is one day my hip, the next day

Speaker:

it's the shoulder. And then my knee will be like,

Speaker:

hey, what about me? You can't leave me out.

Speaker:

I gotta have my turn too. And then

Speaker:

it's not even like it can just be one thing

Speaker:

hurts that goes away and something else starts

Speaker:

hurting. Oh, no. My whole

Speaker:

freaking body just says, well, you know, as if we're

Speaker:

not throwing enough midlife hormonal shit her way.

Speaker:

We might as well just have her whole body hurt. Why?

Speaker:

She's at it. Oh, my goodness.

Speaker:

Midlife, Midlife. Midlife, Midlife.

Speaker:

I really. Some days that's all I can do is laugh and

Speaker:

be like, midlife. Because I don't know what else to do.

Speaker:

Oh, my goodness. So I feel like I just am

Speaker:

in this state of confusion. I'm

Speaker:

literally confused at my body. I am like, what

Speaker:

the hell? Why does this hurt?

Speaker:

Okay, so sure, maybe I slept weird

Speaker:

and maybe this pain will work itself out through

Speaker:

the day and go bye bye, like it needs to. But

Speaker:

nope, it does not go away that easily.

Speaker:

And then I'm in this state of

Speaker:

acceptance, but not really accepting

Speaker:

because I don't want to play that whole, well, I'm

Speaker:

50 years old. This is just, you know, the whole part

Speaker:

of being middle aged and the fun aging process.

Speaker:

I. I get it, I get it, I get it. Yes, as

Speaker:

we age, our bodies do randomly

Speaker:

do shit and we do get random aches and pains

Speaker:

and it's really freaking annoying. Like, cry me.

Speaker:

How much more does midlife think I

Speaker:

need thrown my way? I mean, come on, help a sister out.

Speaker:

I can't be the only one that is dealing with these random aches and

Speaker:

pains. And I can't be the only one that is

Speaker:

like, come on, midlife, cut me a break. Please tell me

Speaker:

I am not the only one that is feeling these

Speaker:

I again. Sometimes all I can do is

Speaker:

laugh and just be like, midlife, midlife,

Speaker:

midlife. Because humor has been

Speaker:

one of the key things that has gotten

Speaker:

me through a lot of this hormonal,

Speaker:

midlife, crazy body changes

Speaker:

crap that is going on in my life. I

Speaker:

like to try and find the humor in everything that I can.

Speaker:

But you know, I also, I sit here and I'm

Speaker:

thinking, I have survived a whole

Speaker:

hell of a lot in these 50 years of my life.

Speaker:

And then this whole midlife thing is just

Speaker:

like. I look at my track

Speaker:

record of all the things that I have survived and I'm like,

Speaker:

okay, I can survive this too. And I want to

Speaker:

survive this because it means, hello, that I am

Speaker:

still on this planet. And that is a good thing.

Speaker:

But seriously, will

Speaker:

there ever come a point where this midlife shit

Speaker:

is just. I

Speaker:

don't know what I'm trying to say. The aches and the pains,

Speaker:

does it ever end? Sure, I probably know

Speaker:

how to answer that question and I'm so thankful that

Speaker:

it is not ending that way yet. If you're reading through the

Speaker:

lines, I'm talking about death. Not to be morbid or anything, but

Speaker:

hello. I don't think I need to tell you, my midlife

Speaker:

sister, that time is not on our hands like it used

Speaker:

to be anymore. I'm just wondering though,

Speaker:

if this is how the rest of my life is

Speaker:

going to be dealing with all these freaking random ass

Speaker:

aches and pains because it's annoying as all

Speaker:

get out. Yeah, whatever. Oh

Speaker:

yes. So all of that rambling to say if you

Speaker:

woke up today with a mystery ache that you can't

Speaker:

explain, explain. You are not alone. Welcome

Speaker:

to the midlife club. There is no

Speaker:

membership card required. We just have a shared

Speaker:

understanding and okay,

Speaker:

I can't talk today and occasional

Speaker:

creaks and groans when we stand up.

Speaker:

So for today my takeaway from

Speaker:

all of my personal rant rambling is

Speaker:

let's stretch a little, let's drink some more water

Speaker:

and let's just try not to judge our bodies

Speaker:

too harshly. It is doing the best that

Speaker:

it can, even yes, when it is throwing

Speaker:

these random ass aches and pains our way.

Speaker:

Okay my midlife sisters, that's it for today.

Speaker:

Thank you again for putting up with my rambling. By the

Speaker:

way, I am always looking for a guest

Speaker:

so head on over to tishleigh.com and

Speaker:

Speaker:

Speaker:

Speaker:

middle aged women.
